Reflecting on UBA’s “Jogging to Bond” Experience in Abuja, as a proud member of the United Bank for Africa (UBA) family, I had the opportunity to partake in our much-anticipated “Jogging to Bond” event in Abuja. This initiative, more than just a fitness activity, represents the essence of our corporate culture—unity, health, and camaraderie.
On a bright and early morning, we gathered, donned in our UBA-branded athletic wear, ready to hit the pavement. The air was filled with excitement and a bit of nervous anticipation. For many of us, this was a chance to step out of our usual roles, to interact not as Member of the Marketing department or designations but as one cohesive unit with a shared goal.
The route took us through some of Abuja’s most scenic views. As we jogged, walked, and sometimes huffed, it wasn’t just our bodies that were getting a workout, but our team spirit was being strengthened too. Encouragements were shared, and laughter echoed through the ranks, making every kilometer more memorable than the last.
But “Jogging to Bond” was more than an exercise session; it was a testament to UBA’s commitment to the well-being of its staff and fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment. It highlighted the importance of looking beyond the confines of our office spaces and embracing health and teamwork as integral to our personal and professional growth.
As we crossed the finish line, the sense of accomplishment was palpable. We had not only pushed our physical limits but also solidified bonds that would translate into more cohesive work relationships. The event underscored UBA’s dedication to creating a workplace where everyone feels valued, connected, and motivated.
In retrospect, “Jogging to Bond” was an embodiment of UBA’s ethos. It was a clear message that while we may pursue individual achievements, our strength truly lies in our unity. As we returned to our daily routines, we carried with us the lessons of resilience, teamwork, and the importance of nurturing both our physical and professional well-being.
